Grant Invitations – August 26, 2024
The LeBel Foundation was established in 2021. Since that time, we have provided funding to over a dozen Michigan-based animal rescue and shelter organizations.
In August, the Foundation Board of Directors authorized a new round of funding for animal shelters, animal rescues, and related organizations. This round of funding is competitive and awards will be based on proposals that best fit these funding criteria:
Funding Priorities (in this order):
- Purchasable Goods and Equipment. Please specify goods/equipment needed, the purpose, and the cost.
- Veterinarian Services. Please specify the number of services (e.g., spay/neuter services) and cost per service.
- Building Code and/or Licensing Compliance. Please describe funding needed for sanitation, safety, ventilation, temperature control, etc.
- Pet Supplies (lowest priority). Please specify pet supplies such as food, quantity, and cost.
- Other items may also be considered.
Funding Cap:
- We prefer funding requests up to $2,000
Restrictions:
- Funds cannot be used for salaries.
Narrative Required:
Tell us why this is an important priority for your organization. Please include any additional information you think will help to make your case.
If you have not received funding from us in the past, please describe your organization so we understand your primary mission, service area, and goals.
Include your organization’s contact information (organization name, address, phone, website, and email). Please include contact information for the individual knowledgeable about your funding request.
Provide your Employer Identification Number (EIN). Needed to verify your non-profit or governmental status (required for all organizations we fund).
Followup Required:
After funding, you agree to provide documentation (receipts, photos, etc.) showing our funds were spent as intended.
Funding Deadline:
Submit your request no later than October 31, 2024.
Our Funding Criteria:
Our intent is to fund the most urgent and/or strategic requests consistent with the Funding Priorities listed above.
If your proposal is time-sensitive, please note it, and we will try to consider it prior to the submission deadline.
Once received, your request will be submitted to the Foundation Board for review. We expect decisions to be made on all submissions by November 17, 2024.
If for some reason, you are unable to meet the funding submission deadline above, or you have needs that emerge during the year, please know that:
o We accept proposals throughout the year.
o We generally ask that proposals follow the guidelines given above.
We are happy to discuss your proposals with you by phone or email. Feel free to contact us at any time.
Thank you for all you do on behalf of animals in our community.
Sincerely,
Steve and Marge LeBel
